On July 4, 2017, The BNP was adopted by City Council after 2.5 years of collaboration between the community and the City. The first phase, referred to as the Bathurst Quay Streetscape and Public Realm Plan, is now underway with repairs being made to the dock-wall on the east end of the western gap and a lease to the Ireland Park Foundation by the city for the administrative building. Bryan Bowen from the City Planning department gave an update along with William Peat from the Ireland Foundation, to the BQNA on Wednesday, November 21, 2018.
