Bathurst Quay neighbourhood Community Response handbook.
The Community Response handbook was designed for the Bathurst Quay neighbourhood to enable us to be better prepared for emergencies that could arise. It was created in response to the October 2022 bomb scare that resulted in an eight-hour evacuation of neighbourhood.
The handbook is a collaborative project between Councillor Malik’s office, the Bathurst Quay Neighbourhood Association (BQNA), and Toronto Emergency Management in response to community feedback surrounding emergency preparedness in the neighbourhood.
The project was initiated by the BQNA after a public meeting was held in December 2022. A task force was formed by Councillor Malik who engaged the Toronto Emergency Measures team. We want to thank this team and all residents who contributed their time, insights, and advocacy to this important project.

An information session will follow that will give an overview of what is featured in the book and will provide the opportunity for discussion of how the handbook can be customized for the specific needs of their building and its residents.
