The classes at Harbourfront are taught by the Craft & Design Artists-in-residence at Harbourfront within one of the five studios – textiles, glass, ceramics, jewellery, and design. Everything from making your own rings, pendants, earrings or cuff bracelets, make your own quilted pillow, weaving, bead embroidery, make your own glass holiday/Christmas, pumpkin or valentine ornament, ceramics, 3D floral embroidery, round weaving... A very long list of choices!

I signed up for Spontaneous Stitching, a three night workshop with Khadija Aziz one of the Artist-in-Residence at Harbourfront Centre’s Craft & Design Studio (Textiles). Over three evenings we created samplers to learn and practice a series of embroidery stitches and get creative with colour and texture. Plans for these new embroidery skills included jean and clothing decoration and a white summer bag was already coming to life with colourful floral embroidery. Was a lovely three nights – inspiring and a great change of pace from the everyday routines.

So check out the list of courses and workshops at the link below and be prepared to get creative!
